Marc Held (France)

In October 2013, two simultaneous exhibitions in Paris (Galerie Marion Held-Javal) and Marseilles (Galerie Alexis Pentcheff) presented all aspects of Marc Held’s career, his architectural projects, his photos taken in the 1960s, and, above all, his iconic products, some of which had been re-produced: such as the Primo Culbuto armchair, the porcelain tea set for Maison J.L Coquet, the IBM sofa...

For the occasion, Marc Held produced, for the first time, with his daughter, a series of eight numbered and signed models of the Primo Culbuto, the armchair which inspired the Culbuto by Knoll, an iconic product of the designer which became part of the Museum of Decorative Arts’ permanent collections in 1985.

In spring 2014, his 50-year career in design was presented in a book written by Michèle Champenois and published by Editions Norma.
