LEA CERAMICHE

Lea Ceramiche launches the supply of ceramics for the construction of 28 metro stations in the Grand Paris Express project

Leading Italian ceramics brand Lea Ceramiche takes part in the cladding of the new Grand Paris Express metro stations.

The Grand Paris Express (GPE) is a project that will see the Île-de-France region install 200 kilometers of new track and 68 new interconnected stations by 2030. The Société du Grand Paris (SGP) issued a public invitation to tender for the project, and Lea Ceramiche won 50% of the contract to supply the ceramic surfaces required for the project - over 110,000 m2 of product - which will be used for the paving and cladding of 28 stations.

Lea Ceramiche has created a highly resistant industrial material that guarantees excellent technical performance and is ATEX-certified. For this order, Lea Ceramiche took part in the tender with a group of several companies - including Mapei - who will together supply the necessary materials.

The Grand Paris Express project is the largest infrastructure project in Europe today. The aim of the project is to build 4 new rail lines, extend some existing metro lines and generally improve the public transport system in the Île-de-France region. The project, scheduled to start in 2020, will be fully operational by 2030.
