SAINT-ÉTIENNE INTERNATIONAL DESIGN BIENNAL
"Ressource(s), présager demain"
13th Saint-Étienne International Design Biennial
📍 22 May-6 July 2025
A theme at the heart of contemporary issues.
Faced with environmental challenges, we need to reassess our production and consumption methods. Let's turn constraints into assets! It's against this backdrop that the Saint-Étienne International Design Biennial unveils the theme for its 13th edition. It explores the many issues surrounding the use of resources - natural, economic, human and intellectual - opening the way to an enthusiastic reflection on the future of creation and how the designer can assert himself as a resource to make the world a more welcoming place.
Far from being a mere showcase, the Biennial is an event-laboratory. It's a place for ideas, networking, cross-fertilization, exchange, debate and support for design research. Designed to captivate both professionals and the general public, this year's edition will also feature Armenia as a guest country, and pay tribute to Raymond Guidot.
Through exhibitions and original creations from all over the world, as well as an insight into the world of young designers and industry, the Biennial will be organized around two distinct venues: the Cité du design and the Halles Barrouin industrial wasteland. At the same time, professional days, cultural gatherings and a rich program of events will be held throughout the Saint-Étienne metropolis. The aim: to unite amateurs and experts around the possibilities of a better world that are open to our imaginations.
