INMA | A look back at the strategic plan for craftsmanship
The Institut National des Métiers d'Art (INMA), a key player in the national strategy to promote craft trades announced a few days ago by the French government.
In the wake of the presentation of the interministerial strategy in favor of arts and crafts by Ms Rima Abdul Malak, Minister of Culture, and Ms Olivia Grégoire, Minister Delegate for SMEs, Crafts and Tourism, the Institut National des Métiers d'Art (INMA) comments on the importance of such a program for an entire sector.
Luc Lesénécal, Chairman of INMA, and founder and CEO of Tricots Saint James, hails the collective effort: "After many months of working on the co-construction of this plan alongside the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, as well as major players in the crafts and living heritage sector, we are delighted with the fruit of this reflection, announced this morning: an ambitious and concrete strategy that combines creation, education and economic development.
Xavier Long, Managing Director of INMA, shares this enthusiasm and continues: "We're thrilled by the announcement of this plan, which gives a much-needed boost to our sector and consolidates the ground needed for the in-depth work carried out by INMA.
It's a strong signal for the structuring of ambitious and rigorous work that will enable companies, whatever their size or location, to pursue their quest for excellence and remove as many obstacles to their development as possible. The long-term survival of know-how depends on the long-term economic survival of the companies that support it.
