LEA CERAMICHE CELEBRATES THE INAUGURATION OF THE SAINT-DENIS - PLEYEL STATION

Lea Ceramiche, the Italian brand that combines visionary design and technological performance, is celebrating the inauguration of the Saint-Denis - Pleyel station, an integral part of the Grand Paris Express network and above all the main gateway to the Olympic Village. This architectural project of excellence, designed by Kengo Kuma, one of Japan's most important and significant international architects, represents a perfect combination of creativity and functionality.

Saint-Denis - Pleyel station is the new flagship of a mixed-use district that is undergoing a complete transformation and preparing to become a central hub for the north of the Paris region. It is located in the commune of Saint-Denis, in the immediate vicinity of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine and Île-Saint-Denis. With three entrances, including one from the future Franchissement Urbain Pleyel, it will link the Pleyel and La Plaine districts. The only station in the network to connect 4 metro lines, it will welcome 250,000 passengers a day, the highest number of any of the new Grand Paris Express stations, on a total surface area of 34,000 m² spread over nine levels, with shops and an area reserved for tourist and cultural facilities that will benefit the local community well beyond the Olympic adventure.

"It's a great satisfaction for us to be involved as co-protagonists in such prestigious projects for the city of Paris, especially at such an important time. The interior flooring of the Saint-Denis - Pleyel station, made exclusively with Lea Ceramiche surfaces, is a testament to the brand's ability to serve particularly ambitious and stimulating projects", said Andrea Anghinetti, Brand Manager of Lea Ceramiche.

The inauguration of the Saint-Denis - Pleyel station is part of the wider development of the Grand Paris Express project, now the largest infrastructure project in Europe. The aim of this project is to build 4 new rail lines, extend some existing metro lines and generally improve the public transport system in the Île-de-France region. The project will start in 2020 and will be fully operational by 2030.

"We are proud to contribute to the transformation of one of Europe's most important capitals and to play a leading role in the opening of the main entrance to the Olympic Village," said Emilio Mussini, Chairman of Panariagroup. "Thanks to our cutting-edge technical solutions and dedicated service, we operate in both the residential and major contracting sectors, including infrastructure. This leading position at international level means we are optimistic about the global market, and in particular the French market. "
